Casa Lanternim
BUILT
BRASÍLIA-DF, 2018
The project is a result of the renovation and expansion of a one-story house on Lago Norte in Brasília, a residential neighborhood outside the Plano Piloto. The entire structure of the existing house was used and part of it was reinforced to receive a second floor with two bedrooms and a balcony. On the ground floor we maintained the pool, increased the leisure area with the addition of a balcony, a shaded pergola for the pool, sauna, external bathrooms and barbecue. The expansion of the service area discovered in front of the plot configures the side wall that delimits the main entrance. In turn, the new floor is surrounded by a new “skin” in its entire perimeter, consisting of a “brise-soleil” system made of steel structure and fiber cement sheets. The opening angle of the plates follows criteria of privacy, sun protection and views to the outside. The central uncovered garden was created to bring natural lighting and ventilation to the center of the house.
