Geração de Brasília Workshop Sol Nascente

PROJECT WORKSHOP

Time Length: 3 days
Place: Universidade IESPLAN, Brasília-DF, 2017

The Sol Nascente neighborhood is located beside Ceilândia, the most populous city of the Federal District. Sol Nascente has a population of more than 17.000 people and it keeps growing year after year. Between the first “oficial” part of the city and its new expansion areas is the Parque do Sol Nascente (Sol Nascente Park), which was the study area of this edition of the Free Course organized by the group Geração de Brasília (Brasília Generation). The adoption of “pi” beams made up of pre-fabricated concrete to be reused from the demolition of a big parking building in Brasília as the basic element for the construction for the new necessary infrastructures and public equipment for the park was the initial condition that was adopted by the project. We have departured from the main objectives of preserving the existing water springs, to recover the native vegetation, and to use the park as a pedestrian connection between the existing areas of the neighborhood. We aimed to use the design of the park as a structuring element for the orderly growth of the neighborhood and the urban improvements to be built around it in the future. For this, we have proposed to separate the project in three main operations that are reflected in three layers of intervention: 1-Natural Layer, 2-Modified Layer and 3-Aerial Layer…

Tutoring Architects: Eder Alencar (ArqBR), Matheus Seco (BLOCO), Manoel Fonseca e Paulo Lourenço (Geração de Brasília)
Students: Hugo Leonardos, Jessica Ferreira, Mayara Almeida, Muniky Rocha, Pedro Iago
