Impact Hub’s unit in Brasilia, one of the world’s leading companies in collaborative work spaces (coworking), aims to “build environments with ecosystems that drive collaboration and business innovation around the UN’s Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ” The two-story project occupies 900m2 of a commercial building near the center of Brasília. The upper floor is divided into areas more reserved for companies of different sizes and the ground floor houses social environments for collective use and support areas for the enterprise. A single floor covering throughout the project unified the different parts of the program, characterized by the subtle difference in colors applied to fixed furniture. We identified most of the “artificial” materials used in the project through the use of colors (mdf, vinyl flooring, office furniture, perforated lining sheets) while the natural color of the material was used only in the Tauari plywood community bank modules in the main access to space.
