Ernesto Cafe

Ernesto’s first project from 115 Sul in 2011 had the main intention of integrating the store space with the back gardens of the residential block. In addition, we kept elements that existed previously in the store and ended up becoming a trademark of coffee: the solid wooden door at the entrance to the store and the iron doors at the back. When we started the new project for 108 Norte, we were also interested in maximizing the use of the public garden facing the residential block. That is why we invited landscaper Mariana Siqueira to do a careful job of organizing the existing vegetation and implanting native species from the cerrado.

The location of the new store made it possible to increase contact with the gardens of the residential block through the tables arranged along the commercial gallery. This resulted in the expansion of Café Ernesto’s customers’ favorite area: outdoor tables. At the same time, we rescued some elements of the original design, using them as part of the setting for the new unit: The metalwork doors (including the well-known “yellow door”), the use of natural wood as part of the cladding, the rustic plaster on the walls, references to the cobogó “floral pattern” used in Asa Sul and the diversity of the furniture.
