Nomadic House

PROJECT

SÃO PAULO-SP, 2016

The theme “Nomadic House” was requested by a brazilian design magazine. BLOCO´s proposal is based on the idea of a movable, transformable trailer that can grow in size whan it is parked. The propostition consists of a module that keeps the maximum dimensions allowed for this type of transportation when it´s closed. When parked, its lateral open and form two elevated decks on which the internal boxes slide out. These volumes house the bedrooms while the open empty space that is left behind can be used as a multifunction space (living room, dining room, kitchen) with built-in equipment on the walls and folding furniture that is easy to store.   Photovoltaic solar panels are embbeded in the reflective skin that covers the house, mirroing the landscape where the unit is parked. A water storage, reuse and purification system is installed below the chassis.
